Say Goodbye to Who You Are

And embrace a brand new one that revolves around work, sleep and work. First taste of PDS life which was only about 1/10 of the actual one and I am already finding it demanding. Drop your belongings, change, then is work, work, work, work, work, work, work, 10min lunch (if you are fortunate enough), then work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, OT if necessary, home, sleep and wake to another day of routine all over again.

No, work does not involves sitting infront of a computer or in a comfy air conditioned office. It is on a hazardous machine which produces intense heat and extreme high decibel noise. Climbing on, under or even into it is part and parcel of work, even when it has just been shut down and is still giving off heat that is enough to split the ends of your hair. Count your blessings if you are not stricken with fumes poisoning when feeding it fuel, oil or hydraulic fluid. Should there be X chemical leak from the bugger, you better run for your life, which I happen to have the chance to do so today. Moving around the bugger especially when you are already fatigue stricken can be very mentally taxing. Standing between the empennage and the lift producing structure, I thought I saw a double horizontal stabilizer and almost knock against it. Oh well, all in a day's work. I should really count my blessings if I can go home, unhurt everyday.
